Mother's Day Poem - Brooke

🌹💝When you thought I wasn’t looking💝🌹
When you thought I wasn’t looking
I saw you put my blanket on in the middle of the night
And I felt loved and warm

When you thought I wasn’t looking
I saw you give money to the poor
And I learnt  to share even if it's the tiniest of things

When you thought I wasn’t looking
I saw you rubbing your eyes when you're tired from
working hard for our family
And I knew I had a loving mum

When you thought I wasn’t looking
I saw you made my bed for me when we were in a rush
to get to school
And I learnt to see a need and respond to it

When you thought I wasn’t looking
I saw you looking tired but still making dinner
And I learnt to make sacrifices

When you thought I wasn’t looking
I saw you wash my laundry
And I knew you do so much for us

When you thought I wasn't looking,
I looked....
and I wanted to say thanks for all the things
I saw when you thought I wasn't looking.

Intense Balancing Island - Brooke

Intense Balancing Island

I was shivering while I walked along the thick wooden log. I was feeling anxious about falling into the freezing cold lake as if we were above the Atlantic Ocean with sticks barely poking out of the water below. While walking across the log I felt as if I going to fall but I had courage to get past. When I took the last step on the log I made it to the island where Mrs Kopua was waiting. I felt relieved for a second, but next it was the long unbalanced wobbly bridge!
When walking across the rickety bridge I took a big step one by one slowly but surely and soon enough I had reached the other side. Feeling more nervous than before, I looked up ahead and saw two, long, slim, parallel ropes and one of my friends who had just finished walking across the rope.
“It’s your turn,” said Mrs Kopua.
I took one step and thought to myself “you can do it, you can do it.”
In no time I was on the other end of the ropes feeling relaxed after that intense course.

An Ode TO St Francis
Image result for st josephO dearest St Joseph
Gentle kindness for others is like the calm blue sea
Eyes twinkle like the sun reflecting against the ocean
Your generosity makes the world seem better
Your kindness fills the air around us
You are our faithful father of Jesus

Born in 90 BC Bethlehem
Mark 6:3 Is this not the carpenter, husband of mary and father of Jesus
Granted the gift of being Jesus’ father
Loving father of Jesus
Given the gift of a carpenter
Died on July 20 18 AD

O loving St Joseph
What does it feel like to be a Saint?
What does it feel like to be the father of Jesus?
What is like up in heaven?
What was it like when you went through the resurrection of Jesus?
What was it like being a carpenter?
I admire your love, service and dedication to all

Syria - Brooke

We are learning about communities so we looked at communities that Caritas help. In our class we watched Caritas information based on Lent and we all chose one country to do a report on. In our report we did some research about the country and why Caritas is helping them.

I enjoyed creating this slideshow because I got to learn more about my country (Syria) and how we can work as one community to help one another. I think that I could improve on my information about Syria and the war that they went through but so far a think it was FUN to do.
